If they are not committing to be Canadian then the taxes paid are essentially a cost of the benefits they gain while Canadian residents.

People who arent citizens arent allowed to vote nor should they be, since they likely havent been here as long as citizens and may not have to deal with the long term effect of their votes

Anyone who lives in our communities and is currently affected by how the country is ran should have some kind of say. Anyone who doesn't shouldn't.

 @B4NFYRTfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2wks2W

No, if one wants to control or have input into Canada's current operations or future, they must become citizens

 @B4JRP8Nfrom Saskatchewan  disagreed…2wks2W

No. If you are not Canadian, you don't get a say in Canada. If you work here, you pay taxes. If you are a citizen, you are a guest and get no vote.

You pay taxes for our infrastructure and services not the right to vote. Become a Canadian citizen if you’d like to vote

I think as long as there's a good background check, and they aren't violent criminals and reside in canda they should have a right to vote.

If they’re paying taxes they are affected by the vote and thus should be able to have some say in it.

Foreigners should have the right to vote if they reside in Canada, if they do not have citizenship they should not be aloud to vote and potentially alter an election for people residing in Canada

 @9GH9DKFfrom Alberta  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Until you’re a citizen, you should not be voting. Taxes are so you can have the benefits of our programs.

 @9GH3T5Zfrom Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Voting is not about whether you pay taxes it's about the direction you want your own country to head in

 @9GNDYPNfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

You pay taxes for access to our services. You pay a fee to access the hotel not decide how it's run.

 @9GMF6B9from Quebec  disagreed…1yr1Y

The right to vote should come with you being a dedicated citizen, you pay taxes so people including you can all contribute and benefit from what the government offers, however people who are confirmed citizens of this society should be allowed to vote, there for paying taxes shouldn't define you as a citizen.

People who develop business in this country are here for just that. Its their workplace. They don't live here & their interests align with what ever is making them money.
