The government already gives natives more rights than any other citizen in Canada. I think it's a waste of federal funds that could be allocated elsewhere.

We are perpetuating old happenings. It's time for everyone to move on. We are keeping everyone stuck in the past and it does not help us move forward. Everyone who is a canadian is a canadian, period. We are all responsible for living as canadians.

Why should they get more than anyone else? The only natives that should get help are ones who went through the schools not they're children.

Native Americans want all of the benefits of being Canadian while avoiding all of the downsides. They are not the only people to be mistreated by government. They shouldn't be the only ones to receive special treatment. Our government signed a contract and that contract ended years ago. Cut the funds.

That it just isn't necessary, they're equal to everyone else so let them compete with everyone else on the same terms.

The Canadian Government is the direct cause of the mental and physical state of the Native community. Throwing money at them is not the solution but providing social and health services to rebuild the community we had a major hand in dismantling.

There is a limit to the amount of reflecting on our past, and we as a people need to understand that we must not keep sacrificing our wealth because of the actions of people before us.

Since these people live in Canada, they too, live under the law of Canada. They too, should receive the same amount of treatment as the other non-First Nations citizens.

Everyone has certain setbacks in life and you may have had more hardships growing up but so long as you work hard (if youve had more hardships youll have to work harder) you can come out of it. everyone in Canada should be equal and no one group should be favored.

Abolish the Indian Act as it promotes cultural segregation and is a barrier to indigenous community's living as equals among other Canadians.

 @9G35GQSfrom British Columbia  agreed…2yrs2Y

They should be treated as financially equal to all other non-Indigenous citizens. Maybe the government can offer different means (such as education) to help them become or continue being productive members of society. Since they are already exempt from taxes, there should be no additional financial assistance given when the rest of the country is also in despair.
