Should Canada raise taxes on the rich?
Australia currently has a progressive tax system whereby high income earners pay a higher percentage of tax than low income tax. A more progressive income tax system has been proposed as a tool towards reducing wealth inequality.

@9FMPCV82yrs2Y
Increase the income tax rate for the wealthy, but lower it for people of the middle class and remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations.
@9RBZ34WNew Democratic9mos9MO
Lower the income tax rate for below 500k household income, raise taxes on total compensation for over 1 million and remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations
Canada requires a complete review and reform of the entire tax system. Poor and mid earners are overtaxed and corporations are undertaxed. Canadians are tax poor. Restriction on spending by any federal government should be enacted and all spending should be voted on. Diverting taxe revenue to government speanding needs to end. All tax revenue needs to be alloctaed to where the tax is marked to go such as heathcare. Healthcare has had tax revenue dicerity for far too laong and is underfunded becuase of it.
@9STKB358mos8MO
No because you work hard to do what you do or be who you are and they should be able to take more but they can't take to little because then we would all have more problems
@99S7KGD2yrs2Y
Increase taxes for the "rich", lower taxes for the "poor", close/remove all existing loopholes for corporations and
@959PD67New Democratic3yrs3Y

@92JWQPCNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Yes, and lower taxes on the poor, and remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations
@8YCQ2VPNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Yes. The rich should be taxed according to their excess money and loopholes for large corporations must be removed.
@8Y8FRBDNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Yes, as it is ridiculous to require populaces of lower financial standards to be the backbone of the rich and government financial markets
@8XK6WF6New Democratic3yrs3Y
Increase taxes and remove loopholes
@8WLRLTF4yrs4Y
I support raising taxes on corporations and wealthy billionaires; however, ideally we would democratize the workforce, eliminating the need to tax the rich as there would be no ultra-wealthy class.
@8W6KC6MNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Yes, abolish extremes of wealth and poverty
@8VX4GH4New Democratic4yrs4Y
Yes, but only if they make over a certain amount, like 1 million dollars
@8VWS6PQ4yrs4Y
yes, as the new democrat party said, raise taxes for the rich and remove all loopholes
@8VWR2CDNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Tax the rich out of existence
@8VRZPJVNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Yes, and greatly increase the budget for the CRA to go after tax dodgers.
They should add a new system that taxes corporations CEOs differently then someone working at Tim’s. It needs to be completely re-designed
@8VRFDM64yrs4Y
The the amount of taxes the rich pay should vary depending on their income
@8VQGYWX4yrs4Y
Yes, and lower taxes for families under $100K annual income.
@8VQG689New Democratic4yrs4Y
Raise it for anyone who makes more then $350 000 a year.
@8VPQBVRNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Lower the taxes for the poor and remove tax loopholes for large corporations
@8VKKSCLNew Democratic4yrs4Y
I think it depends on the location, property owned, and the community area in which the person lives. I don’t think the taxes should be raised on all rich people, as it should depend on current bills and finances, and if it is affordable for the Canadian government and the family/person(s) who owns it.
@8V9DCT5New Democratic4yrs4Y
We should first make sure the rich are even paying their taxes and then re-evaluate.
@8V8LQD4New Democratic4yrs4Y
Increase tax for anyone making over a million a year.
@8V6VN9S4yrs4Y
lower the taxes for lower incomes and remove all existing loopholes for everyone.
@8TZ28ZV4yrs4Y
We need a wealth cap on buisness and persons, and a luxury tax
@8TVZNSRNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Increasing taxes to the rich is ineffective, should focus on ensuring the people with the most money pay taxes.
@8TVYWZ6New Democratic4yrs4Y
Yes, but only for individuals making more then $150k a year or family’s making more then $250k a year
@8TD4K2Q4yrs4Y
Replace the current income tax with a negative income tax
@8T9HJCTNew Democratic4yrs4Y
No HST for anyone making under $ 50,000 and close tax loopholes for large corporations and people making over $ 150,000.
@8T4XK6P4yrs4Y
Reduce income tax for all tax brackets. Create a land tax instead of the current property tax to discourage property hoarding. Keep the corporation tax and raise it from 26.5% to 27%. Lower capital gains tax from 50% to 25% as well as matches inflation costs. Lower the federal sales tax from 5% to 4%.
@8SZ8F9L4yrs4Y
Keep Taxes, but remove taxing loopholes.
@8S2N9LBNew Democratic4yrs4Y
no, but close tax loopholes for rich and corporations
@8RDHH75New Democratic4yrs4Y
I think that taxes should be based on your income as a percentage.
@8QWW73KNew Democratic4yrs4Y
I think if your working harder to get ahead you shouldn't be charged extra because your hard earned money is needed by someone els who possibly isn't trying as hard
@8PXGFK5New Democratic4yrs4Y
Increase property taxes, lower income taxes
@8PQYYJ7New Democratic4yrs4Y
I think the ones who work the hardest in the middle class or even rich don't deserve to pay more taxes than someone who collects all their from the government. it's not fair we work hard o they can get free money. I'm not speaking of someone specific just in general.
@8PCJP274yrs4Y
@8KLCJ9TNew Democratic5yrs5Y
Yes, and Canada should remove all existing loopholes for large corporations/rich people, and throw the book at entity that commits tax evasion.
@8HPSK5WNew Democratic5yrs5Y
Yes, however create a system in which the higher your income you have the higher your income tax is and in the opposite as well, making a system in which stabilizes people who are struggling and makes it equal in the sense that rich people have it easier tax wise.
@8H94CWFNew Democratic5yrs5Y
No, but lower tax rates for middle class and lower class
@8DDJKTQ5yrs5Y
there should only be one class the working class the capitalist class is not needed
@8CKGYRV5yrs5Y
Yes, I believe that the rich should be taxed more but the poor and middle class should be taxed way less.
@9CS3LQGNew Democratic2yrs2Y
No, but show efforts to keep jobs in Canada.
@9C7YSQRNew Democratic2yrs2Y
Yes, and there should be a limit of how much wealth you are allowed to accumulate (you cannot have a net yearly income of over 1 billion dollars, anything iver 1 billion goes to taxes, no matter how much.)
@99HH6R5New Democratic2yrs2Y
Yes, and remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations and track where government funding goes, but put funding towards social programs to help individuals out of the underlying cause of their poverty.
@99BZ226New Democratic2yrs2Y
Tax property buyers who try to rent to others at inflated/exorbitant rates (Fahri)

@96KD6623yrs3Y
remove loopholes for corporations. don't charge tax based on how much money some one makes charge based on how much they actually have after their expenses for them/family.
@95HR3MF3yrs3Y
increase the tax on the rich and lower the tax for the poor
@9STLJ7BNew Democratic8mos8MO
Raise taxes on Millionaires and Billionaires to lower the tax burden on the poor or those looking to make an honest living. The Millionaires and Billionaires should still be able to keep a portion of their wealth, but they should not have so much money to do
