my best counter argument for this would be that it helps keep the environment safe and is less dangerous to the environment.

 @9G99Y9Lfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

nuclear energy is clean, effective, cost-efficient, and safer. For Canada to grow it will need energy and as of present Nuclear is our best option

 @B47DTZVfrom Ontario  disagreed…1wk1W

It is one of the most environment friendly options for power. Nuclear waste is as safe as can be. Furthuring nuclear engineering can advance our understanding. The risk of a meltdown is extremely low as long protocols are being followed. Can generate lots of energy for the population.

 @B457NDSfrom Ontario  disagreed…2wks2W

Fine…. Keep burning coal. Keep dreaming thinking wind and solar will be enough… I just think Nuclear is the correct answer. Technology has improved incredibly with new Nuclear ideas. It is our only hope.

 @B3TCJ7Zfrom Alberta  disagreed…3wks3W

It is an extremely efficient and clean form of energy. If we want to transition away from fossil fuels, we need nuclear energy to make that happen. We can't rely on wind and solar alone.

 @B3FRC82from Ontario  agreed…1mo1MO

it's not a natural power source and will eventually destroy our planet and everything we know as it is, it makes people extremely sick as well and there are not many safe ways to use it

 @B2XHDKFfrom Alberta  agreed…2mos2MO

I'd explain how bad our earth is suffering, that we need a more environmentally safe solutions, that global warming is getting worse and if we don't drastically change our ways, we're going to be doomed, need and nuclear energy is not going to help.

 @B2QRYYCfrom Ontario  agreed…2mos2MO

1.5 percent of all nuclear power plants ever built have melted down to some degree. Meltdowns have been either catastrophic (Chernobyl, Ukraine in 1986; three reactors at Fukushima Dai-ichi, Japan in 2011) or damaging (Three-Mile Island in 1979; Saint-Laurent France in 1980). The nuclear industry has proposed new reactor designs that they suggest are safer. Dont say do more reasearch i have although it is very unlikely for a Nuclear catastrophic event there is still that chance were things could go very bad.

 @B2QB5MXfrom Alberta  disagreed…2mos2MO

Nuclear energy is safe and clean. The only accounts of nuclear disaster occurred based on active human intervention, and with proper training and protocols can be prevented from happening again

 @B2FYGHSfrom Ontario  agreed…3mos3MO

The pollution, toxic chemicals, radioactive waste and limited fuel supply that affects people’s lives and health are just dew reasons to say No to Nuclear Energy.

 @B2CLGCHGreenfrom Ontario  disagreed…3mos3MO

that we need a clean way to make energy and with the new technologies it is much safer and that we can end most of the air pollution with it

 @B29TS3Bfrom Ontario  disagreed…3mos3MO

I believe nuclear energy is highly reliable, produces low carbon emissions, and is crucial for meeting sustainable energy demands. It provides a stable and continuous power supply, unlike solar and wind energy, which are weather-dependent and intermittent. Additionally, nuclear energy generates significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil fuels, making it a key solution in addressing climate change.With advancements in modern nuclear technology, such as small modular reactors (SMRs) and improved safety standards, I have greater confidence in the safety and efficiency of nuclear energy. I believe nuclear power can complement renewable energy sources and play a vital role in achieving long-term energy sustainability and security.

 @B255QGJLiberalfrom Manitoba  agreed…4mos4MO

nuclear energy is not ok because some times nuclear power plants will blow up or have a melt down and make that whole place a living stink bomb that kills.

 @B23GQQXfrom Ontario  disagreed…4mos4MO

Nuclear energy is extremely safe and all the waste is kept on site. Other energy souces dump all the waste into the atmosphere or water.

 @9ZV7KNJfrom Ontario  agreed…4mos4MO

When it comes to things destructive and devastating for the human race, nuclear energy, and devices are the single biggest problem and worry to the population because: of mutations/deformities of people and animals, the atmosphere getting messed up making it hard for people to breath, and lastly, when nuclear energy is used, whether that be a bomb or just radiation, it will kill everyone and everything it comes into contact with. An example is the Chernobyl Disaster.

 @9NP5LZ9from Ontario  disagreed…10mos10MO

For every story born out of the nuclear fear of the Cold War, Ontario has had a running nuclear plant that has been clean and efficient for years and is a clear model on the possibilities of a future cleaner energy supply.

 @9MLMD7Rfrom Ontario  disagreed…11mos11MO

Nuclear energy is a superior form of renewable energy there is low risk to people or the environment. Nuclear energy is the future its a sustainable form of energy unlike fossil fuels it does not prompt climate change and global warming it provides energy that lessens the waste going into our atmosphere.

 @9MKF88Vfrom Ontario  disagreed…11mos11MO

People are only afraid of Nuclear Energy because of what happened in Chernobyl. Many countries rely on nuclear energy and emit much less carbon emissions than Canada.

 @9LXT3F4from Ontario  disagreed…11mos11MO

As of now, Nuclear Energy is the most effective source of energy. This should continue and then slowly diminish as we create and find better renewable-energy methods.

 @9LTLWJTConservativefrom Saskatchewan  disagreed…11mos11MO

Nuclear energy is our future the amount of waste it produces can be put back into depleted uranium deposits a big thing we need to focus on is the reduction of the emissions our sources of energy emits Canada could become the Saudi Arabia of nuclear energy we have plenty of land specifically in Saskatchewan that could be used for smaller nuclear modules

 @9K6LJNTfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

If i were to research how many people had severe injuries whilst on the job of a nuclear power plant it would be quite large as opposed work-related injuries on other jobs of energy powered.

 @9JVTX4Wfrom Alberta  agreed…1yr1Y

Nuclear energy is a good choice but also has opposing factors such as radioactive waste and limited fuel supply

 @9HXH3FWfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Nuclear Energy is a big reliable source of energy. We will one day run out of gas for our cars and machines, plus the carbon they produce are very bad. Nuclear energy sources can be safe with more research.

 @9HQXYFKConservativefrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

I believe we should increase military power but definitely not nuclear, because nuclear energy may destroy us and the world

 @9H4Y24Rfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

If Canada ends up in a situation where we are importing other resources and that country gets in war wee will be left with nothing then we will have to resort to nuclear energy.

 @9GZS4M2from Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Without the use of nuclear energy there would not be enough power to create alternative energy sources, we must rely on nuclear energy temporarily until conditions for more renewable energy sources are readily available

 @9GX4BM8New Democraticfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

Nuclear energy is pretty clean (actually pretty safe - most meltdowns are caused by human error) and it provides lots of power. This will

 @9GVK6XLfrom Alberta  agreed…1yr1Y

While it's cheap to use it can be very dangerous to us and our environment it could end up leaking or it could explode which will radiate our plant or causing toxic chemicals in the air.

 @9GRY65Wfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Nuclear accidents are the main thing people are afraid of. If you look at the numbers, nuclear accidents happen way less than other accidents. Nuclear also causes less deaths per unit of energy produced

 @B398BP7from Ontario  disagreed…1mo1MO

Nuclear Energy, overall, is less deadly then fossil fuels, and less Space hungry then wind and solar. If we are to reduce carbon emissons, Nuclear must be a integral part of it.

 @B36HQBJfrom Ontario  disagreed…1mo1MO

Nuclear energy is completely safe and currently our best source for green energy, the main reason people are against it is due to media portraying it in a negative light. This is because nuclear disasters of our past are caused by improper construction from soviet era communities and/or built in areas that they shouldn't have been built due to a high chance of natural disasters occurring.

 @B2RX3TQfrom Alberta  disagreed…2mos2MO

yes, nuclear could end us all but the pros are too great for you to not wanna support it. If well maintained, it is one of the most sustainable forms of energy we have.

 @9FSCN3MConservativefrom Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Nuclear Energy represents our best chance at efficient energy production without being reliant on Russia and minimizing emissions.

 @9FRVPDRfrom Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Nuclear energy is actually quite safe, past Nuclear accidents have been caused by neglect and bad reactor design.

 @9FKGSNXfrom Ontario  agreed…2yrs2Y

nuclear bombs are very dangerous and should not be used since they only destroy the planet and nuclear

 @9FJKVHPfrom Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Nuclear is the cleanest and most efficient energy source we know. Solar and wind simply doesn't provide the level of energy required to sustain our way of life. Per capita, less people die from nuclear energy and related accidents compared to other forms of energy.

 @9FGTTSTfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It is cleaner for society and all major accidents were from faulty and unchecked equipment, and those were 1 in a trillion

 @B3R8FNVConservativefrom Alberta  disagreed…4wks4W

Canada has an abundance of nuclear resources, and building the local talent would provide clear economic benifits.

 @B3DVFC9from Ontario  disagreed…1mo1MO

Nuclear Power does not only offer safe, clear reliable power; it also produces life saving medical isotopes.

 @B3HJFFPPeople’s from Ontario  disagreed…1mo1MO

It is a long term solution to switch from fossil fuels. Instead of looking for easy points and mock-solutions such as most green projects, we already know nuclear works, such as in France and Korea. A combination of nuclear energy and hydro is perhaps the best possible setup we can have. There is very minuscule waste involved. and accidents are overly exaggerated, ex fukushima and other major accidents happened due to natural disasters, and still no one died because of it. Even Chernobyl wasn’t because of dangers of nuclear energy itself, only due to human error and a low quality system of the Soviets.

 @9GL2J24Liberalfrom Manitoba  disagreed…1yr1Y

Nuclear energy is both good for the environment as well as moderately safe with there being only 3 major events caused by poor management and bad equipment. In the end it’s just a cleaner more efficient energy criminalized due to shotty power plants

 @9GH4VMJfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

Because the nuclear energy can end up exploding or leaking, which now means that toxic chemicals are in the air and end up causing an explosion or radiating the planet.

 @9GGWHYSfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

It is sooo much better than pumping smog into the air. It’s also extremely efficient, and dispite Chernobyl exploding 45 years ago, nuclear meltdown are extremely unlikely.

 @9GCWLKLfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

When there is an accient in any part of a Nucleer Energy Plant it could cause incident like the Chernobly Explosion and The Three Mile Island Incident.

 @9GCNRN9from Nova Scotia  agreed…1yr1Y

The Government of Canada's point of view is, therefore, that nuclear disarmament must be sought in a concerted and non-unilateral manner, that civilian nuclear power, implemented with the greatest safety, security and non-proliferation measures, is an important part of the energy mix, and studies indicate that the reliance on nuclear energy will be necessary to achieve carbon neutrality in time to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Nuclear will be needed for

It is very very dangerous and can ruin people’s lives and create serious health problems, as well as the chance of them blowing up and destroying communities

 @9GDCSCBfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

There is a lot of misinformation and fear surrounding nuclear power but it is a clean energy source that will help us until we can fully transition to green energy.

 @9G97DZLfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

you guys should agree with me because think about it if something happen a nuclear bobm could be set off and white out more than half the city

 @9FZ37PMdisagreed…1yr1Y

Nuclear energy is proven to be both a safe and clean form of energy generation. There is virtually no carbon emissions. It is efficient.with effective management, there is little risk of adverse effects

 @9FYMJ74Conservativefrom New Brunswick  disagreed…1yr1Y

You are completely brain-dead if you're against nuclear energy. More sustainable energy makes the left happy, and buying less oil from Afghanistan will make the right happy. I don't see any downsides to having more cheap sustainable energy.

 @9FWJ44Yfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Nuclear Energy is one of the cleanest and most efficient sources of energy that modern technology can possibly produce. In fact, fossil and coal fuel has caused more deaths than nuclear power plants. I do acknowledge that nuclear power plants ,if gone wrong, can cause serious damage, but fossil and coal fuel causes much more damage regardless if something goes wrong. Coal and fossil power is simply more damaging than nuclear power. Coal and fossil waste are also produced more frequently than nuclear waste and has more lasting damage than nuclear waste.

Nuclear waste can be safely contained, buried, and loses its energy over time, rendering it nearly harmless. Coal and fossil waste cause long-lasting damage. A good example of the damage coal and fossil waste have created is climate change.

 @9G9Z99Ffrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Nuclear energy is efficient, safe, and could help us cut out fossil fuel usage. The only reason most people are afraid of using nuclear power plants is because of previous incidents caused by incompetency, faulty equipment, and outdated equipment. Nowadays they are managed very well and most incidents that have happened in the past are not repeatable.

 @9G7Y86Bfrom New Brunswick  disagreed…1yr1Y

Nuclear is way more efficient and effective then fossil fuels and as long as we follow the safety requirements and regulations we'll be good.
