If the federal government is sending money they should be entitled to speak on how the province is spending it. Privatization is the doom of all citizens. Healthcare should never be about making profit.

 @B35Q7K5answered…1mo1MO

Stay provincial so poor federal leadership can't destroy it without obvious imbalance being evident. Provinces should be obliged to put federal tax dollars provided for healthcare, INTO healthcare without exception. Absolutely NO to privatization!

 @9H6GJSNfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Both should work together to ensure higher standards, better way of pay, and equality within the healthcare system.

 @9T3VJQSNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…7mos7MO

I prefer a hybrid system where certain aspects of healthcare should be handled provincially, with Federal oversight to ensure there is regulation to not privatize our system. Healthcare should be a right not a privilege. I think a country's government should be responsible for ensuring our most vulnerable citizens are taken care of.

 @9SSQ8P6from Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

It should be shared with many checks and balances to make sure neither one has the ability to dismantle or change it. No privatization and a lot of accountability from both the feds and the provincial govt. Whent he feds send money it should all go to Healthcare!

 @9G5PNCKfrom Saskatchewan  answered…1yr1Y

Both especially for “Status Indians” who fall through the cracks and are denied important medical services and equipment

 @9F5KMPVfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Health care is a Federal responsibility. The health of Canadians is the Canadian governments responsibility.

 @9L4XKWXfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

I feel like it does not matter if it is provincial or federal, just as long as it is available to every citizen.

 @9HCP7QVfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

The constitution clearly lays out that healthcare is a provincial responsibility. The Canada Health Act usurps this delegation, but Healthcare is Provincial.

 @95M658Gfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

privatized. people act like our healthcare is free but our taxes are nearly the highest in the world

 @956ZQSVConservativefrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

a responsibility of both the federal and provincial governments to manage funding and other decisions

 @93QXJCFfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93B6FPPfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Doesn’t matter provincial or federal, it needs to be better. Less of a budget care type and more of a total care it saves time and money for both parties during the treatment. And people in ER for sore throat etc ( little non urgent things) should be turned away by tri-age and be sent to go into a walk-in even if it’s provided in a different wing of the hospital.

 @933LMPXfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Both, federal and provincial standards (high) and equality of care financially, fairly, humanely, ethically, healthily, and morally, need to be met.

 @932LD87Greenfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

healthcare should be given to everyone and taken care of by the government

Both. Country-wide funding from the federal government while the provincial government funnels the funding to the health departments where it's needed.

 @8VTF7Z3from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Allow people that want to pay for better and faster health care have the option to.

 @8VT6R7Qfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Federal to create a standard but allow provinces to increase the funding with provincial funds.

 @8VNWQ26from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Provincial except for things that affect the whole nation like the pandemic where you need consistent approaches

 @8VKD4HPfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VJQP9Yfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Both, and regulated federally, so standards and laws are same across Canada.

 @8VJH7P5from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Federal and the same benefits available across the board! BC has NO hearing aid assistant. Why are some Canadians getting aid and not others?

 @8VJH7P5from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Federal and the same benefits available across the board! BC has NO hearing aid assistant. Only one of two provinces in Canada? Why?

 @8VJD47Zfrom Saskatchewan  answered…4yrs4Y

We should privatize and have a backup government assistance for people that are unable to pay. (With strict screening so it doesn’t get abused)

 @8VJ33RXfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Provincial first, but have ability to add federal to cover anything else/emergency.

The Provincial Government should mainly be responsible if not privatized, but with more or less assistance from the Federal government. Depending on upkeep and other expenses.

 @8P9CY8Qfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Federal, though public healthcare should only be for low-income families, emergency cases, or when a special operation that is out of means for the patient is required; otherwise, they should go into private healthcare or pay some subsidies.

 @gerrybohemierLibertarianfrom Manitoba  answered…4yrs4Y

Both are needed to ensure eaqual playing Fields Our drug- only pharmaceutical model is bankrupting our economy. We need to include natural health systems to increase people's choice of health care

 @95QPQD9from Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Federal

I think that there should be more equitable access to healthcare across the country. I think there is room in our healthcare system for private options that can help improve access by taking pressure off the public system. Other countries such as Australia have public/private systems that can be studied to determine if their models can work in Canada.

 @9CMDTGLfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

I think there are aspects that should be the responsibility of both provincial and federal, they should work together to find solutions
